About RefundWise

Built for Indian salaried filers · FY 2025-26 / AY 2026-27

Who builds this

RefundWise is built by Manoj Rana, founder of E&D Shapers Educom Private Limited (Karnataka, India). The product is one person, two products, FY 2025-26 / AY 2026-27. Everything you see on the site is built and maintained by the same person who answers [email protected].

What we build

  • Tax — refund estimator, Form 16 parser, Old-vs-New regime comparison, missed-deduction detection, filing guide. Free preview; paid unlock for the full report.
  • LoanWise — debt-audit calculator: total interest yet to pay over a loan's remaining life, EMI optimization scenarios, refinance comparison math. Free, no signup.

What we don't do

We don't sell loans, recommend specific mutual funds, or provide personalised investment advice. The math we show is illustrative — for advice tied to your specific situation, talk to a SEBI-registered Investment Adviser. For complex returns (capital gains, ESOPs, business income, foreign assets), talk to a Chartered Accountant.

Why I built this

Indian salaried filers leave significant tax savings on the table every year — not because they're careless, but because the tools available either oversimplify (and miss optimisations) or over-charge for things you can compute deterministically once you have your Form 16. RefundWise sits in the middle: AI for parsing the unstructured Form 16, deterministic math for everything downstream, paid only when the value is concretely demonstrated.

Topics I write about

Tax: regime selection, Section 80C/80CCD(1B)/24(b)/HRA optimisation, ITR form selection (ITR-1 vs ITR-2 vs ITR-3), 87A rebate and marginal relief, surcharge thresholds, Form 16 interpretation, previous-employer reconciliation.

Loans: home loan amortisation, refinance math, prepay-vs-invest tradeoffs, after-tax effective rate, credit card APR economics, loan stack auditing for urban Indian salaried borrowers.
